Grace Presbyterian Church

Beliefs

Central to what we believe is that God has done something to restore a relationship with a rebellious people. God has come in the person of Christ to pay for our guilt and sin. On the cross Jesus, the innocent one, was rejected so that God could embrace us, the guilty ones, as his children.

This gospel was at the heart of the Protestant Reformation, where our church finds its roots. As a Reformed church, we believe in:

Scripture Alone
We believe that the Bible is the inerrant Word of the true and living God, the only infallible rule of faith and practice.

Faith Alone
We believe that the only way sinners can draw near to a holy God is to have their sins pardoned and receive the imputed righteousness of Christ. Not even the best of our works can merit this. Justification is by faith alone and is a once-for-all act.

Grace Alone
We believe in the sovereignty of God in salvation and all things. Because of sin our hearts are dead. God must give us the grace to put our faith in him.

Christ Alone
We believe that the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, is about Jesus Christ, the only hope of salvation. Therefore, we preach Christ and not moralism, legalism, or politics. Only when we focus on Christ can we walk worthy of the calling with which we have been called.

A fuller statement of our beliefs can be found in the Westminster Confession of Faith.
