Some people say religion is a private matter. We believe Christianity is something that cannot be lived out alone. The gospel that brings us into a relationship with God also brings us into a relationship with one another, calling us to live our lives together in the community of faith.
Life together brings great joy and encouragement – and sometimes disappointment, since the church is filled with flawed and broken people. But through life in the church we learn humility, confession, repentance, reconciliation, forgiveness, love, and mercy. Because God has accepted us in Christ, we therefore accept one another.
Our life in community shows up in various ways: Sunday morning worship, men’s gatherings, women’s Bible study, a youth mission trip, a visit to minister at the local nursing home, a church campout, round robin dinners, our monthly fellowship meal (the last Sunday of each month). It is in these types of environments that we share our hopes, trials, fears and lives with one another.
