Pastoral staff

Our pastors are educated and ordained to teach, preach, and administer the sacraments.

Rev. William B. Kessler

Pastor Kessler has served as the Senior Pastor at Grace since 2002, preaching, counseling, teaching, and shepherding the congregation of Grace, along with the elders.

In addition to his work locally at Grace, Pastor Kessler serves on the OPC Foreign Missions Committee, writes for New Horizons and Ordained Servant, and is actively involved in overseas outreach—including regular outreaches to Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and Africa. Pastor Kessler has also developed and leads an innovative program to support and encourage missionaries throughout their service. Prior to taking the Senior Pastor position at Grace, Pastor Kessler was a missionary in both Eritrea and Uganda. He also planted and served as minister of Community Presbyterian Church in Newtown, CT for 14 years. Before his church planting role, Pastor Kessler served as an Associate Pastor at Landsdale Presbyterian Church in Landsdale, PA. Pastor Kessler earned a B.A. in Philosophy at Florida Atlantic University. He went to earn both an M.Div and Th.M. from Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, PA.

Pastor Kessler lives in Columbus, OH with his wife, Hazel. They enjoy spending time with their adult children and their grandchildren. Pastor Kessler spends his free time painting, hiking, and fly fishing. He can often be found taking in an impressionist exhibit at museums around the country.

Rev. Alan Dueck

Alan was called as Associate Pastor to Grace in 2018. A U.S. Navy veteran, he earned his bachelor’s degree in Natural Science at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington, and went on to work in the pharmaceutical industry before sensing a call to pastoral ministry. He prepared for ministry at Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, receiving the M.Div. in 2011, and then pastoring an OPC congregation in Nevada until called to Columbus. Alan and his wife, Carrie, have three children.
